His obituary reported:
“Bill Sloan, 87, of Belleville, Michigan formerly of Rowan County, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, July 7, 2010 in St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Superior Township, Michigan. He was born on January 9, 1923 in Rowan County, Kentucky, a son of the late Woodrow and Susie Fraley Slone. Bill liked talking to everyone, enjoyed farming and just loved to spend time with his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wonderful wife, Daisy May in 2003, five siblings and one sister-in-law. Survivors include his children, Woody (Vicki) Sloan of Novi, Michigan, Jann (James) Gierman of South Lyon, Michigan, Ron (Yvonne) Sloan and Kay Robson both of Belleville, Michigan, thirteen grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, two brothers, Tom Sloan and Oscar Sloan and one sister, Ollie Sparks all of Morehead.”
