His death certificate records Silas Sorrell, age 59 years 5 months 13 days, born 15 March 1857 in Ky, died 28 Aug 1916 in Menifee Co., Ky, father Jno P. Sorrell, mother’s maiden name Sallie Statton, both born in Ky, occupation farmer, cause of death blank, informant Milt Sorrell, Scranton, Ky, burial in Staton burial ground.

Her gravestone gives her date of birth as 18 April 1855, and for now I am going by that, but I suspect that her birthdate may actually be 1853 and that she may be a daughter of Solomon’s first wife, Almira Literal. It would seem to be uncommon to name the first child of a second wife after the first wife, and moreover it seems coincidental that her birthday is April 18, when Almira Literal Mynhier died on April 19.
