His death certificate records George Washington Riddle, age 89 years 7 months 15 days, born 4 Aug 1859 in Morgan Co., Kentucky, died 19 April 1949 in Linn Co., Missouri, single (obviously this is wrong, but it is what it says), father Louis Riddle, mother’s maiden name Sarah Clark, wife Susan Riddle, cause of death general arterosclerosis, informant Mrs. Lytha Conrad, Hamilton, Mo, burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Marceline, Mo.

Linn Co., Missouri marriage books record the marriage of Mr. George Riddle and Miss Alice McMillan in Linn Co., Missouri on 6 Jun 1880, by John Urback, Justice of the Peace.

Their son Robert E. Lee Riddle’s death certificate, for which the informant was their son Luther, records their mother’s maiden name as Mary McMillan. Lee would have been an infant when she died, but Luther would have been about 5. It is odd that he misreported his own mother’s name.
