Notes for Nancy W. Dalton
Identification as a daughter of William Dalton and Franky Sturman is based on correspondence with other Dalton researchers. I am not certain of it, though, because she does not appear with them in the 1850 census, when she should be 16 and single. But she may have been working out as a servant.
Be careful not to confuse her with Nancy Dalton, daughter of Reuben Dalton and Catherine Worrell, approximately the same age, who married Isaac Jennings in 1861. They can be distinguished because the other Nancy Dalton is recorded with her mother in the 1860 census, still single, when this Nancy was already married. (They are, in fact, only three households apart.)
