His death certificate, stamped Delay, records Walter Hall, age 66 years 7 months 25 days, born 10 Jan 1882 in Rowan Co., Ky, died 4 Aug 1948 in Soldier, Carter Co., Ky, farmer, married, husband of Zora Evans Hall age 68, father Press Hall, mother’s maiden name Charlotte Templeton, both born in Ky, cause of death arterio sclerotic heart disease, informant Mrs. Walter Hall, Soldier, Ky, burial in Eagle Cem.

I cannot find a death or burial record for Mary. It is possible that she and Walter were divorced and that she remarried, although somewhat unlikely, since their sons Everett and Cliff were living with Walter and his second wife Zora Evans in the 1920 census.

Rowan Co., Ky marriage book 5, p. 151, records the marriage on 10 Nov 1904 of Mary E. Parker, age 17, and Jno. W. Hall, age 22.

1910 census of Fleming Co., Ky, district 5, enumerated 2 May, lists on p. 13A as family #236/237:
Hall, Walter, 28, farm hand; Mary, wife, 23, first marriage for both, married 6 years, mother of 2 children, 2 living; Everet, son, 4; Cleff, son, 1 8/12. All born Ky Ky Ky.

The next household is that of Walter’s father Preston Hall and his second wife Eliza McDaniel.
