I cannot find this family in the 1860 census.
1870 census of Rowan Co., Ky, Cross Roads precinct, enumerated 28 June, lists on p. 6 as family #38:
Swim, John, 35, farmer; Sarah, 36; Emeline, 12; David, 6; John, 4; Fannie, 1. All born in Kentucky. (Note that this is in contradiction to the 1880 census for Sarah.)
The same page contains the families of John’s brothers William and Jeremiah.
1880 census of Rowan Co., Ky, Cross Roads precinct, enumerated 1 June, lists on p. 13 as family #106/120:
Swim, John, 44, laborer, b. Ky Ky Ky; Sarah, 46, wife, b. Ind Ky Ky; Manervia, 19, dau; David L., 15, son; John, 13, son; Barbra, 10, dau; Alexander, 7, son; Lila J.., 5, dau; Sarah E., 2, dau. All children born Ky Ky Ind.
There is no match for the daugther Manerva in the 1870 census. She may be the same person as Emeline, but if so, the age is off by 3 years.
