Notes for Flora D. Johnson
The 1880 census has her name as Florida, but all later records have Flora or Flora D. I don’t know if this is a matter of shortening Florida to Flora, or if “Flora D” was just misunderstood as Florida by the 1880 census taker.

Census
1910 census of Vermilion Co., Illinois, Middlefork township, enumerated 29 April, lists on p. 12B as family #301/307:
Hough, Sol, 44, farm laborer working out; Cora, wife, 33, first marriage for both, married 15 years, mother of 2 children, 1 living; Allie, son, 14; Hall, Clara, niece, 16; Dica, niece, 4; Ida, niece, 22, married 3 years, mother of 2 children, 2 living; Cleta, dau, 2; Wayne, son, 1. All born Ky Ky Ky.
There are many curious things about this census record. The son Allie’s WW I draft registration states that he was born in Morehead in 1896, so this is nearly certain to be Sol Hogge and Flora Johnson. The ages for Clara and Ida fit to be the daughters of Flora’s sister Susan who married Floyd Dee Hall. (Ida married her third cousin William Hall, so her maiden and married name were both Hall. In 1930 William Hall is living with Sol and Flora.)
But Sol and Flora were really not married until 1902. Flora is listed as a single servant, age 22, with the family of Kelley Hogge, and Sol is listed a single boarder, age 34, farm hand, with the family of George W. Hogge. I cannot find Allie in the 1900 census.
Another oddity is that the daughter listed as Gladys age 13 in 1920 does not appear in this census, and the niece Dica listed as age 4 in this census is too young to be a daughter of Susan Johnson Hall, who died before 1900. Possibilities include that Dica and Gladys are the same person, and she should have been listed as a daughter here rather than niece, or that the age is missing a digit and she was really 14.
1920 census of Vermilion Co., Illinois, Pilot township, enumerated 16 Jan, lists on p. 4B as family #86/88:
Hogge, Sol, 55, b. Ky Va Va, farmer; Flora, wife, 41, b. Ky Ky Ky; Allie, son, 22, farm laborer; Gladys, dau, 13. Both children born Ky Ky Ky.
1930 census of Vermilion Co., Illinois, Middlefork township, enumerated 17 April, lists on p. 7A as family #141/143:
Hogge, Florea, 52, widowed, age at first marriage 25, farmer; Allie, son, 34, single, farm laborer; Hall, William, boarder, 45, widowed, age at first marriage 25, farm laborer; Harry, boarder, 8. All born Ky Ky Ky.
