His WW I draft registration card, filed 5 June 1917 in Vermilion Co., Ill, records Allie Hogge, age 21, born 16 Apr 1896 in Morehead, Rowan Co., Ky, residence R.R. 1, Armstrong, Illinois, farm laborer, employer George Buck, single.
Allie is probably adopted, but I do not know who his birth parents were. Sol and Flora were really not married until 1902. In 1900 Flora is listed as a single servant, age 22, with the family of Kelley Hogge, and Sol is listed a single boarder, age 34, farm hand, with the family of George W. Hogge, and there is no Allie in either household. I cannot find him in the 1900 census at all, but if he was not listed with the surname Hogge, it would be hard to positively identify him.
