Apparently the marriage/children data line that should be for Sarah Staton was mistakenly entered after Effie. There is no number of years married for William Staton, as there should be. The “1 child 1 living” on the elder Sarah’s line may be a later “correction” by the census taker who noticed it blank and figured that a mother-in-law must have at least one living child.

The preceding household is headed by Charley Staton age 55, the brother of Berry’s late wife Sarah.
