From the Lexington Channel 18 News website posted 17 May 2010:
“Neighbors say 50-year-old Donna Smedley of the Haldeman community in Rowan County died in a trailer fire Sunday morning.
The fire happened sometime in the early morning hours. The Haldeman Volunteer Fire Department says by the time they received the call and arrived at the trailer it was already burned to the ground.
Neighbor Vicki Rivers says Smedley will be greatly missed.
"Donna was a very sweet person, very thoughtful, very sweet Christian lady, always there for everybody," said Rivers.
Kentucky State Police arson investigators will go to the trailer tomorrow to try to determine the cause of the fire. The body is being sent to the medical examiner's office in Frankfort for positive identification.”
