This family’s surname is spelled as Kelley in most early records, and most Carter and Elliott County descendants continue to use that spelling. Most of the Rowan County family members switched to the spelling Kelly in the early 1900’s.

Sarah is actually a daughter of Naoma and her first husband Abner Caudill.
