Some online family trees show her parents as Allen Dehart and Susan Cline (or Susan Conn), but I do not know the source of that attribution. Allen and Susan were both living in 1900, and it seems more likely that at least one of her parents was deceased by then, since it is uncommon to send a child as young as 9 out to live with another family if both parents are living and not separated.

The Ohio deaths database lists Mary Willis, age 75, died 15 July 1966 at home in London, Madison Co., Ohio, widowed.

The SSDI lists Mary Willis, born 5 Aug 1890, died 15 July 1966, last residence London, Madison Co., Ohio.

1900 census of Elliott Co., Ky, Sinking precinct, enumerated 5 June, lists on p. 2B as family #33:
Middleton, James, 23, b. April 1877, farmer; Dianah, wife, 17, b. June 1882, married 2 years, mother of 2 children, 1 living; Ernest, son, 1, b. Aug 1898; Cecil, son, 3/12, b. Feb 1900; Dehart, Mary, servant, 9, b. July 1890. All born Ky Ky Ky.

In 1910 and 1920 she was listed as a servant with Fielding Alfrey and Caroline McKenzie; see their notes for details.

1920 census of Rowan Co., Ky, Pearcy precinct, p. 211A, River Road, enumerated 12 Jan, lists on p. 1A as household #2/2:
Alfrey, Fielding, 59; Caroline, wife, 57; Farmer, son, 27, widowed; Jim B., son, 16; Emmit, son, 8; Elmer, son, 7; Ottis, son, 5; Dehart, Mary, servant, 29, single.

According to the Kentucky birth index, Emmit, Elmer and Otis are Mary Dehart’s sons, born out of wedlock, but they were all raised as Alfreys.
