He was listed in 1850 with his mother and grandmother as James Ratliff age 6, with his uncle John Ratliff in 1860 as James Harvey age 15, and in 1870 with his first wife Elizabeth as James Ratliff age 24.

I have not found him in 1880, as either James or Harvey.

Her death certificate records Sara Jane Ratliff, age 69 years 2 months 10 days, born 26 Sep 1863 in Kentucky, died 6 Dec 1932 in Flat Woods, Morgan Co., Ky, widow of Harve Ratliff, father Rubin Davis, mother’s maiden name Elizabeth Johnston, both born in Kentucky, cause of death valvular heart lesion, informant Maud Ison, Woods Bend, Ky, burial in home graveyard.

Morgan Co., Ky marriage records list the marriage on 6 Nov 1887 of James H. Ratliff and Sarah J. Davis.

1900 census of Morgan Co., Ky, district 6, enumerated 12 June, lists on p. 10A as family #161/163:
Ratliff, James H., 44, b. Apr 1856, Ky Va Ky, farmer; Sarah J., wife, 38, b. Sep 1861, married 12 years, mother of 2 children, 2 living; Minnie, dau, 11, b. Oct 1888; Myrtie, dau, 3, b. Aug 1896. All except James born Ky Ky Ky.

The age for James is inconsistent by 12 years from other records! The next household is headed by Zachary Ratliff, age 42, b. Nov 1857.
