His death certificate records W. M. Swimm, age 68, born 27 Feb 1877 in Ky, died 5 Jan 1946 in Olive Hill, Carter Co., Ky, married, husband of Parlle Swimm, age 59, occupation brick laborer, employer H. W. R. Co., father Foster Swimm, mother’s maiden name Juelda Hamm, cause of death pneumonia, informant Mrs. W M Swimm, Olive Hill, Ky, burial in Tackett Cemetery.
The “W. M.” is apparently a misunderstanding of the convention for abbreviating William as Wm, since there is no indication in any other records that William had another middle name besides Andrew.

Rowan Co., Ky marriage license book 2, p. 349, and marriage register book A, p. 111, record the marriage on 8 Sep 1897 of William Swim, age 20, born in and both parents born in Rowan Co., to Mary L. Charles, age 17, born in Fleming Co., at the residence of the bride, bond surety by H. F. Johnson.
