His death certificate records John Henry Binion, age 59 years 3 months 24 days, born 17 Feb 1867 in Kentucky, died 11 June 1926 in Laurel precinct, Elliott Co., Ky, married, occupation farmer and D. Sheriff of E. Co., father Vester Binion, mother’s maiden name Loue Porter, both born in Virginia, cause of death homicide by waylaying & shooting, informant blank, burial in Binion Cemetery, Ault, Ky.
All other records show his father’s name as Lincoln Binion. Either the unnamed informant was mistaken, or Vester was a middle name. Since Lincoln died in 1875 when John was only 8 years old, it would be easy for someone in 1926 who was not a sibling to be mistaken about his father’s given name.

Notes for Martha Jane Crockett
She was recorded as 35 born Feb 1865 in the 1900 census, and her gravestone is inscribed March 9, 1875 - Feb 19, 1934. The truth is probably halfway in between, since she was listed as age 9 in the 1880 census.

There are only four months between the reported birthdates of Manda and Allie. Unless there is a recording error, this suggests that Manda is not Martha’s daughter.
