Curiously, there is no daughter named Catherine nor any daughter born ca 1874 in the 1880 census with Richard and Margaret. There is, however a Catherine D. Easterling, age 6, with relationship recorded as daughter in a household whose other members are John Easterling age 35 single, Nancy age 50 single, and Martha age 45 widowed, who were all children of William E. Easterling and Susanna Elam. The adults would therefore have been double first cousins of Richard Easterling, and Catherine would be their first cousin once removed.
