Her obituary, as posted on FindaGrave.com, reported:
“Jean Hoskins, age 82, of Shelby died Sunday morning July 15, 2012 at her home. Born July 5, 1930 in Shiloh to Luther & Roxie (Ramey) Alfrey, she had been a Shelby area resident since 1998. A member of Hannah Road Church of God, Jean enjoyed quilting, traveling, especially out west and Florida and going to casinos.
She is survived by one daughter, Diana (Gary) Hopkins of Shelby; two sons, Dennis (Vikki) Hoskins of Paulden, AZ and Frank Hoskins and his companion, Sharon Stehli of Chino Valley, AZ; four grandchildren, Durrenda (Neal) Evans of Sullivan, Shane (Donna) Wright of Shelby, Ben Hoskins of Bucyrus and Shannon (Rick) Foley of Chino Valley,AZ; two step granddaughters, Jaimee (Randy) Fannin and Jess (Luke) Jackson; seven great grandchildren, Travis, Tabby, Hunter, Tyler, Troy, Zachary and Abby; nine step great grandchildren, Jennifer, Brittney, Katlyn, Rylee, Nolan, Abby, Kaitlyn, Sam and Brandon; one great great granddaughter, Kaitlyn; Two brothers, Avery (Miriam) Alfrey of Shelby and Carl Alfrey and his friend June of Mansfield.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Halic Hoskins in 1998; granddaughter, Christina Hoskins and brother, Bob Alfrey.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday July 19, 2012 at the Barkdull Funeral Home in Shelby. Rev. Floyd Scaggs will officiate with internment held in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Shiloh. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. Memorial expressions may be made to Hospice of North Central Ohio.”
