Some family trees online at Ancestry.com have identified her with Sarah H. Davis, born 9 Sep 1831 in Fleming Co., died 12 Dec 1915 in Bath Co., Ky, daughter of David Davis and Malinda Kerns, but that Sarah Davis married John Hendricks/Hendrix in 1849 and remained married to him until his death in 1885, and never remarried.

1850 census of Fleming Co., Ky, division 2, enumerated 6 Sept, lists on p. 64 as family #445:
Stewart Vanlandingham, 23, farmer, b. Ky; Sarah Ann, 18, b. Ky.

Two households above is a John Vanlandingham, age 84, living with the family of William McCracken age 50 and wife Elizabeth age 47.

1860 census of Bath Co., Ky, Owingsville P.O., enumerated 22 July, lists on p. 133 as family #953:
S. Vanlandingham, 32, farmer; Sarah, 25; Emma, 8; James, 5; John, 3. All born in Kentucky.

1870 census of Fleming Co., Ky, Hillsboro precinct, enumerated 1 Aug, lists on pp. 9-10 as family #61/60:
Vallandingham, Stuart, 44, farmer; Sarah, 35; Mary E., 15; James, 14; E. (f), 11; Thomas, 6; George, 4; Jerry, 6/12. All born in Kentucky.

The ages are very rough. Judging by the 1860 census and Bath Co. birth records, Mary E. should be about 18, James should be 16, and E (Elizabeth) should be 9.

Stewart’s son John listed as age 3 in 1860 is probably the J. W. (or J. M.) Vanlandingham age 13 living in Wyoming precinct, Bath Co., with the family of Jeremiah and Catherine Eaton, presumably working as a farm hand.
