It is possible that the John Vanlandingham who was the son of Stewart Vanlandingham died young, and that the John W. Vanlandingham who married Malinda Bradley and Lucinda Cutright had different parents. Further investigation into his death record and/or the marriage records is needed.

In 1870 he was listed in Wyoming precinct, Bath Co., Ky, as J. W. (or M.) Vanlandingham, age 13, with the family of Jeremiah Eaton age 60 and his wife Catherine age 56.

Her death certificate records Lucinda Vallandingham, age 73 years 7 months 8 days, born 20 Dec 1864 in Fleming Co., Ky, died 28 July 1938 in Fleming Co., Ky, widow of John Vallandingham, father John Riley Cutright, mother’s maiden name Mary Garell, both born in Bath Co., Ky, cause of death cerebral hemorrhage, several attacks over a period of several years, informant Mrs. S. R. Walton, Grange City, Ky, burial in Hillsboro.

1930 census of Fleming Co., Ky, enumerated 28 April, lists on p. 1A as family #7:
Vanlandingham, John, 73, age at first marriage 26, farmer; Lucinda, wife, 65, age at first marriage 20. Both born Ky Ky Ky.
