Census Notes for Sennett Young & Sarah Jane (Family)
1870 census of Bath Co., Ky, Wyoming precinct, enumerated 12 Aug, lists on pp. 26-27 as family #18:
Samuel Crane, 54, farm laborer; Sarah Crane, 53; Senet Bradly, 37, blacksmith, b. Ky; Sarah J. Bradly, 27, b. Ky.
The birthplaces for Samuel and Sarah Crane are ditto marks, which if read literally would mean Ohio, that being the last state entered explicitly, 4 lines above, but I believe this is due to an omission of Kentucky from the line for Elizabeth Galt three lines above, and that the entire Galt family as well as the Cranes were intended to be dittos of Ky.
1880 census of Fleming Co., Ky, Hillsboro precinct, enumerated 26 June, lists on p. 41 as family #360/362:
Bradley, Senate, 46, blacksmith; Sarah J., 35, wife; Samuel E., 9, son; R. C., 7, dau; Johnson, 5, son; Mary B., 3, dau; William W., 1, son. All born Ky Ky Ky.
The daughter R. C. is apparently Ara, whose death certificate said she was born 2 Mar 1873. Most likely the enumerater misunderstood the name “Ara” as being the letter R.
