His obituary in the Charleston Daily Mall of 24 Sep 2005 reported:
“Harry Goodyear, 95, a lifelong resident of Handley, went home to be with the Lord on Sept. 22, 2005, at his home.
He was born Sept. 5, 1910, in Handley and lived there his entire life.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lula Mae Goodyear, on March 29, 2004.
He was retired from Electro Metallurgical Company, Alloy.
Surviving: daughter, Betty Wendell of Pratt; sister, Evelyn Spradling of Savannah, Ga.; five grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Service will be 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 26, at Handley Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. James Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Montgomery Memorial Park, London.”

Her obituary in the Charleston Gazette reported “HANDLEY - Lula Mae Goodyear, 94, of Handley, W.Va., entered into rest on Monday, March 29, 2004, in Montgomery General Extended Care Facility.
Born Oct. 25, 1909, in Rowan County, Ky., she was the daughter of the late Harry and Sarah Alfrey.
She was a member and former Sunday school teacher at the Handley Church of the Nazarene, Handley, W.Va.
Her survivors include her husband of 71 years, Harry Goodyear; daughter, Betty Lou Wendell of Pratt, W.Va.; five grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday, April 1, at the Handley Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. Jim Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Montgomery Memorial Park, London.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
O'Dell Funeral Home in Montgomery is in charge of arrangements. ”
