His death certificate records Waman Blanton, age 73, born 1840 in Ky, died 23 Jun 1913 in Pine Grove precinct, married, farmer, father George Blanton, mother’s maiden name Bitha Lansdown, both born in Ky, cause of death unknown, informant Mander Blanton, Cranston.
His gravestone says Wyman Blanton, undated. The annotated survey from the Rowan County Historical Society is noted with the birthdate 20 Jan 1840.

1870 census of Rowan Co., Ky, Pine Grove precinct, enumerated 23 June, lists on p. 4 as family #29:
Blanton, Wayman, 30, farmer; Sarah, 34; William, 10; Alamander, 8; Lafayette, 4; Raimey, Margaret, 12; Charles, 8; James, 7; Mary, 4/12. All born in Kentucky.
The Rameys are children of James Martin Ramey and Sarah C. Purvis. The wife Sarah is probably that Sarah, not the Sarah Jane Lansdown who was Wayman’s first wife, since the age fits for Sarah Purvis Ramey, and I know of no other connection between the Ramey/Purvis and Blanton/Lansdown families. One counterpoint would be that there are no Ramey children with the family in 1880, and Sarah’s age has returned to being appropriate for Sarah Jane Lansdown. (Since both of these Sarahs died before 1911, indeed before 1900, there are no death records for either one.)
