His death certificate records Sam Rogers, age 36 years 7 months, born 10 July 1896 in Bath Co., Ky, died 7 Feb 1932 in Owingsville, Bath Co., Ky, widowed, father David Rogers, mother’s maiden name Sherly Shrout, both born in Bath Co., Ky, cause of death “drinking too much moon shine licor and chilled to death. Looks like he had been dead 2 or 3 days and (illegible - looks like “freda head” - maybe freezed hard?) while drinking”, informant Lewis Rogers, Owingsville, Ky, burial in Hedricks.

He was not really widowed, but either divorced or separated, since Sadie outlived him.

Sadie was apparently born to Rachel Snedegar and John Sorrell before they were married. In the 1910 census, she is recorded as Sadie M. Snedegar, age 3, granddaughter, with the family of William T. Snedegar and Mary J. Shrout, and Rachel is listed as single and the mother of one living child. She would be a granddaughter to William and Mary Snedegar even if her mother were their daughter Kate, but then there would be no reason not to list her as a Sorrell.

The SSDI lists Sadie Riddle, born 2 Aug 1906, died Mar 1982, last residence Marion, Grant Co., Indiana.

Her death certificate, as abstracted on Findagrave.com, records Sadie Mae Riddle, age 75 years 7 months 10 days, born 4 Aug 1906, died 15 Mar 1982, widowed, father John Sorrell, mother’s maiden name Rachel “Sanmdgree” (apparently a misreading of Snedegar).

1930 census of Bath Co., Ky, Salt Lick precinct, enumerated 8 April, lists on p. 6B as family #146, on Moores Ferry Road:
Sorrell, Rachal, 44, married (although it should be widowed), age at first marriage 25; Jessie, son, 18; Hester, dau, 16; Ethel, dau, 12; Mart, son, 10; Laura, dau, 8; Jack (or Zack), son, 5; Rogers, Sadie, dau, 23, married, age at first marriage 20; Lillian, granddau, 3; Pearl, granddau, 1; Highley, Frankie, granddau, 1. All born Ky Ky Ky.
