Notes for Henry Clinton Lacy
His obituary in the Charleston [Illinois] Daily News reported:
“Henry Clinton Lacy, aged 90 years old, died in his home at Bushton at 7:12 o'clock Sunday evening, He had been a resident of Morgan township for more than a half century.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Perlina (Day) Lacy, and four children; Mrs. Alice Reno in Dallas, Texas, Mrs. Sarah Finley of Coffeen, Ill., Mrs. Exie Craft at Middletown, O., and A. C. Lacy at Middletown, O. There are fifteen grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren.”

Her obituary in the Charleston [Illinois] Daily Courier reported:
“Mrs. Perlina Lacy, long a resident of Bushton, died at her home at 2pm Wednesday, following an illness of two months. She had been seriously ill for about 10 days, and her death was attributed to a heart aliment. Mrs. Lacy was the widow of the late Henry Lacy.
The body was taken to the Harper-Swickard Funeral Home for burial preparation, and is being returned to Mrs. Lacy's home this Thursday afternoon.
Surviving Mrs. Lacy are four children, A. E. Lacy of Middletown, O., Mrs. Powell Craft, of the same city, Mrs. Alice Reno, of Dallas, Tex., and Mrs. H. A. Finley of Coffeen.
Two brothers are still living, Robert Day of Mariba, Ky., Jeff Day, of Bushton, and Mrs. Betty Brown, of Waukegan. There are 14 grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Fannie Adams, of Charleston, Mrs. Sam Hill, near Bushton, and Bill Lacy, of Bushton, are among the many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Lacy, the former Perlina Day, was born January 31, 1854, at Maytown, Ky., the daughter of Arch and Anna Cox Day. She was married to Henry Lacy at Maytown about 1873 and came to Coles County to live. Mr. and Mrs. Lacy resided all their married life around and in Bushton, moving in to the Bushton about 30 years ago. Mr. Lacy died August, 1938.
Mrs. Lacy was long a member of the Christian Church at Buston, and was a much respected woman in the community.”
