In 1920 George is listed with his mother as age 38, widower.

Her death certificate records Bertha May Fraley, age 41 years 1 month 26 days, born 21 April 1893 in Kentucky, died 16 June 1934 in Shelby, Richland Co., Ohio, residence 22 Plum Ave, married, wife of George Fraley, father John Baldridge, mother’s maiden name Mary Warren, both born in Kentucky, cause of death pernicious anemia, informant Earl Irey, Shelby, Ohio, burial in Oakland.

1930 census of Richland Co., Ohio, Shelby ward 1, enumerated 14 April, lists on p. 13A as family #313/355, at 22 Plum Ave:

Rowan Co., Ky marriage book 13, p. 64, records the marriage to take place on 20 Nov 1920 of George Fraley, age 37, farmer, widowed, son of W. O. and Bettie Fraley, and Bertha Baldridge, age 24, divorced, daughter of John and Mary Baldridge, both born in and residents of Rowan Co. No return.

In the 1930 census Bertha was recorded as widowed (even though George was still alive), but on her death certificate she was recorded as married to George Fraley. So it is unclear whether they were divorced or just separated. (Considering the number of babies who died, maybe Bertha didn’t want to risk getting pregnant again.)
