If this is the same person as the William Porter who married Bertha Baldridge in 1915, giving his parents as Henry Porter and Hulda Clcik, then his father was probably Henry Daniel Porter.

In the 1900 census, he was listed with his mother as Willie Click, son, 18, b. Jan 1882.

Her death certificate records Bertha May Fraley, age 41 years 1 month 26 days, born 21 April 1893 in Kentucky, died 16 June 1934 in Shelby, Richland Co., Ohio, residence 22 Plum Ave, married, wife of George Fraley, father John Baldridge, mother’s maiden name Mary Warren, both born in Kentucky, cause of death pernicious anemia, informant Earl Irey, Shelby, Ohio, burial in Oakland.

1920 census of Rowan Co., Ky, Morehead precinct #7, enumerated 26 Jan, lists on p. 11B as family #100/103:

1930 census of Richland Co., Ohio, Shelby ward 1, enumerated 14 April, lists on p. 13A as family #313/355, at 22 Plum Ave:

Rowan Co., Ky marriage book 9, p. 129, records the marriage on 14 Aug 1915 of William Porter, age 30, divorced, born in Elliott Co., residence Rowan Co., father Henry Porter, mother Hulda Click, to Bertha Baldridge, age 22, single, born in and resident of Rowan Co., father John Baldridge, mother blank.

Kentucky marriage books during this period recorded married women by their married name, not their maiden name. (It wasn’t until the 1950’s that the practice changed.) So the only times that the father and mother have different surnames on the marriage books is when either the child was born out of wedlock, or the mother remarried to someone else between the child’s birth and marriage. I can find no Henry Porter with a wife Hulda nor a son William of the right age bracket, so I’m pretty sure that means this William Porter is the same son of Hulda Click who usually went by William Click. (Children born out of wedlock with acknowledged fathers often used both surnames as adults.)
