Notes for Robert M. Clark
His surname is spelled as “Clark” in all of the censuses (1910, 1920, 1930 and 1940), as well as in his Social Security record. But the Kentucky death index (based on death certificates) spells his name as Clarke, as does his gravestone. Most likely he either changed the spelling late in life to match that of his sons, or else whoever filled out the death record preferred the Clarke spelling.
