His obituary reported “Charles Edward Highley, 86, of 306 West Main St, Mt. Sterling, Kentucky passed away Monday, June 14, 2010 at his residence. He was a native of Montgomery County, Kentucky on September 11, 1923 the son of Russell and Eliza Ann Pergram Highley. He was a U S Army veteran having served in WW II, a member of the VFW, and a retired carpenter.
He is survived by one brother, Russell Highley, Jr. of Mt. Sterling, KY and one sister, Cora F. Warren of Mt. Sterling, KY; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be 2 PM, Thursday, June 17, 2010 at the Taul Funeral Home Chapel with Danny Murphy officiating and burial following in the Machpelah Cemetery. Friends may visit from 12 Noon until 2 PM on Thursday. Pallbearers will be Larry George, Patrick Highley, Bradley Highley, Tommy Highley, Jimmy Clark and Bradley Colliver. Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Howard and Friends at the Trimble Apartments and Senior Citizen Center. Military rites will be performed by American Legion Post # 22.”
