I should try to find death certificates and/or obituaries for the three sons of this marriage, because the middle name Ingram for Sylvan suggests that may be his mother’s maiden name. (Her given name of Lizzie is from Hershel’s marriage record, but the marriage licenses did not start recording mothers by their maiden names until much later.)
