In 1880 he is recorded as James O. Pelfrey age 2, but in all later census records he is recorded as Oscar.
Be careful, though, not to confuse him with Oscar Pelfrey born 2 Aug 1876 in Johnson Co., son of John Pelfrey and Margaret Day, who married Sarah Ethel Hall and died 21 Jan 1941 in Elliott Co.
