Her death certificate records Belle McLain Perkins, age 76 years 2 months 15 days, born 24 Nov 1869 in Bath Co., Ky, widow of Nalis Perkins, father Andrew McLain, mother’s maiden name Mary Daugherty, parent birth places blank, cause of death hemoplegia also burns, informant Mrs. Ann Colliver, Flemingsburg, Ky, burial in BEthel.

The reported birth date is off by at least one and more likely two years; she was recorded as age 2 in the 1870 census, with a younger brother Thomas born March 1870, and as age 12 in 1880.

Perkins, Cornelius N., 52, farmer; Belle, wife, 48. McLain, Jerry, uncle, 79, single, no occupation. All born Ky Ky Ky.

Jerry McClain is probably Belle’s uncle rather than Cornelius’s, but I do not know which of her father’s brothers he would be. None of them went by Jerry or Jeremiah in the 1850 or 1860 census, and the reported ages are erratic enough to not be of much help.
