In 1910 Elizabeth Adkins, age 47, mother, divorced, was recorded in Schultz, Greenup Co., Ky, with her son James D. Adkins and his wife Myrtle. The age is off by 10 years; perhaps it was misheard.

Morgan Co., Ky marriage records list the marriage on 6 June 1867 of Rufus Adkins and Elizabeth Adkins, by A. Isom, witnesses Ira Isom and Frederick Adkins.

The bride’s surname may be an clerical error; records for their children are consistent that her maiden name was Brewer, and at age 14 it seems unlikely that she had a prior marriage.
