(Dobbins is no longer in existence, but it was in the part of Lawrence Co. that became the east part of Elliott Co. in 1869.) The informant is probably his brother James Lafayette Clark.

Her death certificate records Rachel Clark, age 75 years 3 months 17 days, birthdate blank, born in Lawrence Co., Ky, died 17 Jan 1934 in Little Fork precinct, Elliott Co., Ky, married, wife of James Clark, father Nemiah Kitchen, mother’s maiden name Martha Fannin, both born in Lawrence Co., Ky, cause of death cronic disentary, informant Edna Fay Clark, Stephens, Ky, burial in home grave yard.

The reported age at death would imply a birth date of 30 Sep 1858. She was not listed in the 1860 census, though, and the 1870 census recorded her as age 9.

So far as I can tell, this James A. Clark is not related to my Clark lines. But I want to keep track of any of his male line descendants who stayed in the Elliott Co. area, so that I can avoid confusing them with my Clark relatives.

The preceding household is headed by Lafayette Clark, age 29, with wife Hattie age 24.
