“A funeral service for Ruth Stapleton, 79, of Hebron, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Kirkersville Chapel of Henderson, Van Atta & Johnston Funeral Service, with the Rev. Jeff Gill officiating. Burial will follow in Kirkersville Cemetery.
Mrs. Stapleton, who was formerly employed by Western Electric, died Jan. 26, 2004, at the Selma Markowitz Care Center of Hospice of Central Ohio. She was born Jan. 3, 1925, in Dobbins, Ky., to the late Fred and Clomma (Ison) Clark.
Surviving are her husband, Earl Stapleton; son, Elwood Stapleton of Columbia, S.C.; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brothers, James Clark of Hebron and Jr. Gillum of Columbus; sister, Blanche Pennington of Columbus; and nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Clifford Stapleton; and by two sisters, Hazel Bleavins and Janet Hayes.”
