There is a stone in Brown-Porter Cemetery for Lyda Brown, with the dates 22 July 1903 to 4 Oct 1921. According to the cemetery survey done by the Rowan County Historical Society, the stone has the inscription “Son of S. D. & Lizzie Brown”. But both the 1910 and 1920 censuses recorded a daughter Liddie. So I suspect that the compilers of the cemetery survey (in Excel spreadsheet format) may have made a copy/paste error and not changed Son to Dau when using some earlier line as a template.
