1930 census of Carter Co., Kentucky, Pleasant Valley precinct, enumerated 5 April, lists on p. 3A as the second of two families numbered #35/39:
Lewis, Henry C., 41, age at first marriage 22, farmer; Nannie, wife, 37, age at first marriage 14; Romania, stepdau, 9; Thelma, dau, 8; Hazel, stepdau, 7. All born Ky Ky Ky.
The two stepdaughters should have the surname Chapman.
1940 census of Elliott Co., Kentucky, ED 32-8, enumerated 9 April, lists on p. 4A as family #53, on the Brown to Ruin road:
Lewis, Henry P., 52, occupation blank; Nannie, wife, 45. Both born in Kentucky, living in same place in 1935.
(The middle initial does not match, but there is no better fit, nor any other couple this could be in the earlier censuses.)
