William B. Rose, 35, farmer; Nancy, 28; Elizabeth, 9; Powel, 7; Sarah, 5; Isaac, 3; John, 8/12. All born in Kentucky.
The preceding household is headed by William’s parents, John Rose age 59, b. Va, and wife Mary age 56, b. N.C. The next household is headed by John D. Rose with wife Nancy, both age 24, and the one after that by David Rose, age 62, b. Va, with wife Sarah age 58.
1860 census of Morgan Co., Ky, division 2, West Liberty P.O., enumerated 15 July, lists on pp. 46-47 as family #299:
William Rose, 45; Nancy, 37; Mary E., 19; Powell, 17; Sarah A., 15; Isaac W., 13; John, 11; Silas, 8; Mary E., 4; Gillean, 1/12. All born in Kentucky.
It seems odd that they would have two daughters named Mary E., but according to the 1880 census, both are their daughters. The younger was later known as Polly.
