Norman was probably a child of Thomas’s first marriage, but since I do not know who Thomas’s first wife was, I am entering Norman in this family group. (The other possibility is that Norman’s birth date as reported on his WW I draft card and his death record is off by two or three years and he was really born in 1890 or 1891, but since the 1910 census does say that Thomas was previously married, it is more likely that the 1888 birth date is correct.)

I cannot find this family in the 1900 census. Judging by the reported birth places of their children in the 1910 census, they were probably still in Virginia.
