Notes for Thomas & Lucy Frances (Family)
Chesterfield Co., Virginia marriage records list the marriage on 20 Dec 1827 of Thomas Moore and Lucy Blankenship.
Census
1850 census of Bath Co., Ky, district 1, enumerated 20 Aug, lists on p. 64 as family #458:
Thomas Moore, 51, farmer; Lucy, 41; Ann E., 21; James J., 20; Samuel, 17; Mary, 12; Francis M. (male), 11; David, 8; Elizabeth J., 5; Maranda, 2. The three youngest born in Kentucky, all others in Virginia.
1860 census of Bath Co., Ky, Owingsville P.O., enumerated 14 June, lists on p. 317:
Thomas Moore, 62, carpenter; Lucy, 50; James, 25, farm hand; Samuel, 23, farm hand; Mary, 21; Frank, 16; David, 16; Betsy, 12; Maranda, 10. The three youngest born in Kentucky, all others in Virginia.
Note that Frank, who is 1850 was recorded as three years older than David, is here reported as the same age, although born in a different state. Most of the children are also two to five years younger than implied by the 1850 census, which is probably closer to correct.
1870 census of Menifee Co., Ky, Rock House P.O., Frenchburg precinct, enumerated 14 June, lists on p. 1 as family #7:
Moore, Thomas, 70, farmer, b. Va; Lucy, 60, b. Va; David, 26, farm hand, b. Ky; Elizabeth, 25, b. Ky; Francis, 28, farm hand, b. Va; Woodson, 12, b. Ky; Jefferson, 9, b. Ky; Thomas, 4, b. Ky.
The three youngest are presumably grandchildren, but I do not know who their parents were.
