His gravestone spells his surname (and Rebecca’s) as Mullens, and gives his dates as 12 Mar 1836 to 23 Oct 1906. The early census records as well as his marriage record to Rebecca are more consistent with a birth date in 1838, including the 1850 census of Pike Co., Ky, where he is recorded with his parents John and Darcus Mullens as John H. Mullens, age 12.

The next household is headed by Albert Lyttleton (aka Littleton) with his first wife Barbara McRoberts. Zarilda Uttterback, widow of Hiram Branham, would later marry Henderson Mullins in Oct 1900, and Albert Littleton/Lyttleton in May 1908.
