Notes for Lydia Baker
There is no burial for Lydia listed in the Dore M. Frantz burials
1 document.
Her children Jacob and Sarah were reported to be raised by her relatives, but in the 1850 and 1860 censuses they appear with the family of Andrew and Catherine Black. Andrew and Catherine were double first cousins of each other, Andrew being the son of Andrew Black Sr. & Susanna Ross, and Catherine being the daughter of Andrew Sr’s brother James Black and Susanna’s sister Catherine Ross. No Bakers in that tree.
The death certificates for Jacob and Sarah both give their mother’s maiden name as Liddie Baker, though. So it was apparently not the name of a previous husband. One possibility is that her mother was either a Baker or a Ross, and that she was a cousin of Andrew and Catherine rather than a sibling. (If she was a cousin of one, she would be a cousin of the other as well.)
