Notes for Sarah Salome ("Sally") Frantz
Her name appears on the marriage bond to John Grisso as "Solma Frantz", on some family group sheets by other researchers as "Salome", and on most Wabash County records (census, cemetery, etc.) as "Sarah". To her family she was known as Sally. There are no records which give her name as "Sarah Salome" or "Salome Sarah." It is possible that she was born Salome, and at some point in later life she or her children chose to interpret Sally as a diminutive of Sarah.
Notes for John & Sarah Salome ("Sally") (Family)
The John Grisso family moved from Clark County, Ohio to Wabash Co., Indiana, sometime between 1860 and 1870.
The profile of the John Grisso & Sarah Frantz family in Lester Binnie's "Early Brethren Families in the Eel River Congregation
2" says that 5 children were born to John & Sarah, and that Amanda was a half-sister of the other 5 children listed in the 1870 census, but this seems inconsistent with census and marriage records.
"History of Clark County, Ohio", page 218, says that John was the father of thirteen children, but does not mention how many by each wife, nor give any of their names. He probably really had fewer than 13 children.
