Ridle, age 84 years 9 months 3 days, born 10 Oct 1839 in Ky, died 3 Aug 1924 in Forge Hill precinct, Bath Co., Ky, marital status blank, father Robert Ridle, mother’s maiden name Lusindy Bradshoe, both born in Ky, cause of death “I am reliably informed that the deceased would not have medical attention and died with symptoms of Brights disease”, informant Spence Ridle, Forge Hill, burial in Old Virginia graveyard.

In 1870 George is listed as age 31, in Fleming Co. with his widowed mother and some of his younger siblings. (The 1870 census does not record marital status, but no wife or children are with him.)

George and Margaret's children were raised by her parents after she died:

Richard W. Feargison, 75; Nancy, 73; with grandsons Richard A. Riddle, 15; Elija S. Riddle, 13; Charles C. Riddle, 11.

1880 census of Fleming Co., Ky, Hillsboro precinct, enumerated 22 June, lists on p. 33 as family #278/280:
Ridle, George A., 40, laborer; Mary, 37, wife; Richard A., 15, son; Elige S., 12, son; Edy M., 10, son; James B, son, 5; Jinna B., 5, dau; William S., 42, brother. All born in Kentucky.

The three older sons are from George’s first marriage, to Margaret Ferguson. Richard and Elijah also appear with Margaret’s parents, as grandchildren:
