Rowan Co. Marriage Record book 6, p. 311, lists Roscoe Pettit, age 19, s/o John & Lissa Pettit, m. Cora Sublett, age 16, d/o Dave & Lizzie Sublett, on 24 Dec 1907, witnesses J.W. Fouch & D.D. Sublett.
They apparently divorced, because Roscoe did not die until 1943, and in 1930 Cora was listed with the children as remarried to Charlie Hicks.

Petitt, Roscoe, 21, farmer; Cora, 17, wife. married 2 years, mother of one child, one living; son Noble, 11/12.
1920 census of Fayette Co., West Virginia, Page precinct, enumerated 15 Jan, lists on p. 12A as family #45:
Petitt, Rolse (or Rocse), 28, coal miner; Cora, 27, wife; Noble, son, 10; Chester, son, 9; Thelma, dau, 7; Myrtle, dau, 5; Phyllis, dau, 1; Sublett, Bertha, sister in law, 19; William, brother-in-law, 22, coal miner. All are listed as born Ky Ky Ky, but I cannot find the younger children in the Kentucky birth records, so they may have really been born in West Virginia.
