Notes for Edmund Basil Wells
Edmund B. Wells was one of the first settlers of Morgan County. The meeting which founded the county was held in his house.
His will, written on 13 Oct 1845 and recorded in Morgan Co. Will Book A on 16 Feb 1846, contains bequests to his wife Sally, three children Benjamin, David, and Martha Perry, son-in-law Abraham Ellington, and the grandchildren (not named or numbered) of his daughter Rachel Ellington deceased. The executor was John W. Hazelrigg, who was also the county clerk.
I have no Wells ancestry; I am entering his descendents through about 1870 mainly because a lot of them married my Downing relatives, and I want to show how they are related to each other.
Notes for Sarah “Sally” Jane Cassity
In the 1850 census Sarah is listed as age 74 with her son David.
