All my details on the children of Marion Jones is from Phil McBrayer's notes.

His death certificate (Vol. 56, #27568) records Marion F. Jones, age 64 years 9 months 24 days, born 29 Jan 1864 in Ky, retired farmer, died 22 Nov 1948 in Clearfield, Rowan Co., Ky, widowed, late wife Minnie Crawford, father James Jones, mother’s maiden name Emily McClain, both born in Ky, cause of death paralysis from previous stroke, informant Mrs. Levi Gregory.

The age at death is off by 20 years, but is apparently just a subtraction error; the birthdate is consistent with census records.

Fleming Co., Ky birth records list Minnie Crawford, born 27 June 1874, father Leander Crawford, mother’s maiden name Adaline Hall.

I cannot find Minnie in the Kentucky death records. Since I also cannot find her mother, it is possible that they were both residing somewhere else in the 1929-1935 periold, and were returned to Kentucky for burial.

I cannot find this family in the 1900 or 1910 census.

1920 census of Rowan Co., Ky, precinct #9 (Wagoner), lists as family #33/36:
Jones, Marion, 54; Minnie, wife, 45; Ima, dau, 17; Irvin, son, 14.

1930 census of Rowan Co., Ky, district 1, Morehead, lists on p. 8A as family #132:
Jones, Marion, farmer, 66, age at first marriage 27; Minnie, wife, 56, age at first marriage 17. Both born Ky/Ky/Ky.

Curiously, there is also a Minnie listed as age 52, widowed, mother-in-law, with the family of Gene Johnson and Ima Jones. Perhaps she was on an extended visit, and the enumerator simply assumed than any mother-in-law living with her daughter and son-in-law would be a widow? Or, since there was no surname listed for her, perhaps rather than that being an error, the Minnie with Gene and Ima was really his step-mother.
