Rowan Co. marriage book 4, p. 405, records the marriage of Thomas Foster, 21, saw mill hand, residence Morehead, born Rowan Co. to Bert Bowman, 19, residence Morehead, born Bath Co, father born Virginia, on 23 Jan 1903.
I’m not sure what happened to this marriage. Her gravestone lists her name as Alberta Bowman Foster, which suggests that she did not remarry, but in the 1920 census their daughters are living with her parents, and I think she is the same person as Bertha Bowman who married Taylor Gregory in 1921.
