Census
This family was apparently listed twice in the 1900 census, once in Morehead and once in Pearce precinct.
1900 census of Rowan Co., Ky, Pearce precinct, enumerated 9 June, lists on p. 8A as family #128:
Jones, David H., 22, b. Mar 1878, teamster; Lillie, wife, 21, b. Apr 1879, married 3 years, mother of 1 child, 1 living; Garen, son, 9/12, b. Oct 1899. All born Ky Ky Ky.
1900 census of Rowan Co., Ky, Morehead, enumerated June 19, lists on p. 19B as family #371:
David Jones, 22, b. Jan 1878, farmer; wife Lillie, 24, b. May 1876; married 3 yrs, mother of 1 child, 1 living; son Gardner, 1, b. May 1899. All born Ky Ky Ky.
Despite the discrepancies, it is highly likely that these are the same family, as there are not two matching marriage records. The birthdate for David is correct in the first record, and the one for Lillie is correct, or nearly so, in the second record. (She was listed as age 4 in 1880, but with a brother Garland age 3 who was recorded in the 1900 census as born Nov 1876. Two children cannot be born six months apart, so either Lillie was really born in 1875, or Garland was really born in 1877.)
