His WW I draft registration card, filed 5 June 1918, records Linzy Shelton, age 21, residence Clearfield, Rowan Co., Ky, born 7 April 1896 in West Virginia, father born in Kentucky, employer M & N F R R Co., Clearfield, nearest relative Mindy Morris, Clearfield, Ky.
The SSDI lists Lenzy Shelton, born 7 April 1897, died Jan 1978 in Shelby, Richland Co., Ohio.
The Ohio deaths database lists Lenzy Shelton, age 80, died 17 Jan 1978 in Shelby, Richland Co., Ohio.
My Hall relatives said that Linzy Shelton was the son of John Shelton who married Wiley Hall’s widow Mary Crawford, but they did not mention who his mother was. I cannot find him in the 1900 or 1910 censuses, so I’m not really sure that he was John’s son. Certainly he was not living with John and Lula in 1900. Presumably he was with his mother if she was still living, or with her relatives if she was not.
