I haven’t found a marriage record for Duran and Mindy yet, but their son James Shelton’s death record lists his parents as Durin Shelton and Mindy Mays.

1880 census of Greenup Co., Ky, Liberty precinct, enumerated 15 June, lists on p. 79 as family #211/216:
James Shelton, 25, wood chopper; Minta, 24, wife; John, 2, son; James, 7/12, Gd son. All born in Ky. (The relationship for James Jr. must be a mistake. There is no way he could be a grandson.)
